What is SwipeSet?

You want to show your friends the photos from last night's party. Your phone gets passed around, and you quietly hope nobody swipes too far. Showing photos should feel good. Not like a brief loss of control the moment your phone is in someone else's hands.

SwipeSet is an app for iPhone and iPad that lets you show selected photos and videos without exposing the rest of your library. You build a set and hand over your device without a second thought. The other person can only swipe through that set. Only you can end it, with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. Photos stay on your device, with no account and no subscription.

Comparison

SwipeSet or Guided Access?

Guided Access is built into iOS and keeps the iPhone inside a single app. It doesn't control which photos can be seen in that app. The two work well together.

Guided Access (iOS)

  • Free and built into iOS
  • Keeps the device in one app, the Home gesture is blocked
  • In the Photos app your whole library stays reachable
  • Set up in Settings, started with a triple click

SwipeSet

  • Only the photos and videos in your set can be reached
  • Ends only with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode
  • Save sets and show them again later
  • Safest when combined with Guided Access

Frequently asked questions

Can the other person see other photos?

No. Only the photos and videos in your set can be reached. Only you can end the set, with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode.

Can someone just leave the app?

Only iOS can prevent that. With Guided Access, your iPhone stays in SwipeSet until you end it with your passcode. SwipeSet shows you how to set it up in its settings.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Your photos and videos never leave your device. SwipeSet has no accounts and no cloud storage.

How do I show someone photos without them swiping through my library?

Pick the photos in SwipeSet, start the set and hand over your iPhone. The other person only sees that set. For extra safety, also turn on Guided Access in iOS.

How much does SwipeSet cost?

Downloading and using it is free: a set can hold up to 4 photos or videos, and you can save up to 2 sets. Pro removes both limits and unlocks alternate app icons. Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

Which devices does SwipeSet run on?

On iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 and later.

Which languages does SwipeSet support?

SwipeSet is available in 17 languages: German, English, Danish, Spanish, French, Italian, Hungarian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), Romanian, Finnish, Swedish, Russian, Japanese and Korean. The app automatically follows the language of your iPhone or iPad. You can also pick a different language for SwipeSet in iOS Settings.

Is SwipeSet available for Android?
